To-go cocktail kits, margaritas, wine, or beer is all the rage now and restaurants here in Austin have been revamping their current to-go menus in order to add more drink options for customers. While restaurants and bars have started opening up, this is another great way to support local businesses especially if you don’t feel comfortable going out just yet. Below, we have a guide to our top 10 favorite places in Austin to grab booze via takeout or delivery. Be sure to wear a mask, tip well, and when you are ordering delivery, it’s best to order directly from the restaurants themselves!
This South Lamar restaurant is known for being a lively spot serving authentic tapas, tasty paella, and delicious Red Sangria. They are currently open for dine-in service but have updated their to-go menu so you can enjoy any of their tasty cocktails at home. You can find anything from their Spanish Gin and Tonic Kit which includes a 50ml bottle of Sear Sucker Gin, to their Desert Door Paloma, or even a bottle of their signature House Red Sangria.
What I especially love about this New American restaurant is that they also support local farms and businesses by partnering up with them, bringing the freshest ingredients to their signature cocktails. You can find anything from margaritas, an Old Fashioned with blackberry simple syrup and Thai basil bitters, to their very own take on the classic Moscow Mule.
Another great spot that will take care of your margarita cravings is El Alma. They even offer a delicious variety of margarita pitchers to-go such as their classic margaritas (you can even add flavors like mango, strawberry, or blueberry!) or my personal favorite, the margarita flaquita which has watermelon-serrano infused tequila…delicious!! These pitchers will serve 4-6 people, but they also offer options for individual drinks.
You can find their full beer and wine list available for takeout online. They offer rotating daily specials on their beers and there's something for every kind of wine lover. They only support
sustainable, family-owned wineries and all of their wines are biodynamic and/or organic. Go check out their menu to see all of their great drink options!
Located in Windsor Park, this all-day café has frozen drinks like frosé, Palomas (as pictured to the left), and margaritas, as well as spicy margaritas, available by the pitcher or individually. If you aren’t wanting frozen drinks, they still have you covered with many great options on their beer and wine list which are also available for to-go orders.
This east Austin Italian restaurant is offering Amari and wines to-go via deliveries or curbside pickups placed online or over the phone. If you’re looking for a sign, they even have a take-out special where you can get 30% off any wine! Just go check out their online takeout menu for a full wine list and pricing.
My favorite part about Irene’s cocktails to-go? They come in as I like to describe them, larger adult capri sun packs that make drinking them that much more fun. They are offering their full bar menu to go, I highly recommend trying either their Part-Time Lover (Tequila, Aperol, Grapefruit) or their new seasonal drink called Pumpkin Vice (as pictured to the right) and is a pumpkin-spiced Pina Colada…Irene’s never disappoints with their creative cocktails.
While they have reopened their beer garden for dine-in service, this downtown historic beer garden and restaurant is still offering their full beer and cocktail menu to-go. They have an extensive beer menu covering all kinds from draught beer, package beer, and drafts. In addition to that, a must-try is their signature Honey Radler which features Bitburger Pilsner and Haus Honey Lemonade for only $6!
This downtown cocktail bar is not only offering a tasty list of cocktails to-go such as its
mezcal-based Cigar Box, the bright Vodkadora (as pictured below), or fruity Painkiller, but also offer the option to purchase bar tools. In addition to their nice list of cocktails, you also can find red, white, sparkling, or rose wine bottles on their menu for takeout.
Everyday from 11am-8pm you can order frozen or on the rocks margaritas or a cold Mexican beer for pickup/delivery. They even offer their famous frozen Palomas to-go and cocktail kits to share with friends!
Even better, you can find these restaurants listed in our 2021 Austin Foodie Flight giving you all the more reason to go try and support these local restaurants. Keep in mind that it is required to purchase food alongside your alcohol for to-go orders and check out their websites for additional offers on all their tasty eats & drinks. Cheers!
